Cataract surgery reimbursement

Do you have cataract surgery planned? You may be eligible for reimbursement. You can easily notify us of your cataract treatment online via the Vanbreda App or through the web portal. Afterwards, you can easily add your invoices and other documents to your file to submit your expenses for reimbursement.

How to report your cataract surgery for reimbursement?

Notifying us of your cataract treatment is easy online. Using the Vanbreda App on your smartphone or the web portal in your browser, you can easily add your documents (such as bills and other proof of payment). Log in with your personal account to submit your expenses and track the status of your reimbursements.

Tip: When registering at the hospital, provide your 010 number in advance. You’ll find this identification code on your digital Medi-Link card in the Vanbreda App. This allows us to receive your hospital bill directly, so you won’t need to pay the full amount upfront.

Outpatient cataract surgery

You can also opt for day surgery at an outpatient eye surgery centre. These centres offer cataract operations outside the hospital. Some eye surgery centres work together with your health insurance fund to perform the procedure. The conditions for reimbursement usually differ from those of your insurance policy.

Tip: Reporting your cataract surgery online is easy via the Vanbreda App or the web portal. In the app, choose ‘Day surgery’ and select the eye centre where the procedure will take place. Afterwards, you will be able to submit your expenses online.
